St John has been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the proceeds from Lift Up Your Voice, a collection of sermons by Nigel Willis, a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal and an ordained minister in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.

This special anthology commemorates the 120th anniversary of St George’s Anglican Church in Parktown and the 10th anniversary of Nigel Willis’s preaching from its pulpit. Thanks to generous sponsorship by Nicky and Strilli Oppenheimer, the author will not receive any royalties, ensuring that proceeds from each sale directly support selected non-profit organisations, including St John Johannesburg.

When purchasing a copy, buyers may select a beneficiary, with at least R200 from every sale being donated to their chosen cause.

The Reverend Dr Nigel Willis

Nigel Willis is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal and an ordained non-stipendiary minister in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. He currently serves as an assistant priest at St George’s Anglican Church in Parktown, Johannesburg, which has had a long-standing association with the Order of St John.

Beyond his legal and theological contributions, Nigel has been actively involved in game ranching in the Northern Tuli Block, where he has fond memories of attending executive committee meetings of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve (NOTUGRE), often held at Glenshiel.
