Durban based national director of St John Eye Care, Fatima Hoosen, has been chosen to chair The International Women’s Committee – a huge honour, and an appropriate acknowledgement as South Africa commemorates women’s month.

The International Women’s Committee consists of women from St John Priories and oorganizations worldwide.

“It is an immense privilege to chair this committee and to represent St John South Africa at the forefront of this initiative,” explains Fatima. “Jenny Wilcox, Chief of Staff at St John International, and I are currently in the planning stages for our first meeting, which will take place next month. Our goal is to foster ongoing conversations and create a safe space for women to share the challenges and prejudices they experience in the workplace.

“Additionally, we aim to highlight and profile women from around the globe, enabling us to recognize and appreciate the invaluable roles our fellow St John members play, even if we may not meet them in person.

“We look forward to embarking on this journey and are excited about the positive impact it will have on our community,” she says.
