Following two incredibly successful projects with Sasol, where we provided spectacles to elderly community members and individuals with disabilities, we've witnessed firsthand the profound impact that improved vision can have on one's quality of life.
Building on this success, we are thrilled to announce a new, larger-scale partnership with Sasol to extend our vision testing and support to a younger demographic.
In our upcoming project, we will be testing the eyesight of all learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12 in the Metsimaholo schools throughout Sasolburg. Recognizing that good vision is crucial for learning, this initiative aims to identify and correct refractive errors, thereby enhancing students’ academic performance and overall well-being.
We are currently in the planning stages of this project and expect to commence testing shortly. The project is anticipated to span 5-6 months, during which we will ensure that every student in the participating schools receives the necessary eye care and spectacles.
In our ongoing commitment to promoting eye health, we have been actively educating companies on the critical importance of maintaining good vision in the workplace. We are advocating for the inclusion of optometry services in corporate wellness programs, emphasizing how essential eye health is for employee well-being and productivity.
Through this initiative, we have successfully partnered with three major companies, participating in their Wellness Days. During these events, we provided visual and ocular eye screenings and eye health education to their employees. This collaboration has not only highlighted the value of eye care in the workplace but also afforded us invaluable exposure within the corporate sector.
