From the desk of James Moodie - Chief Commissioner of Brigade
The Brigade is excited to announce that the South African Youth Advisory Network (SAYAN) is once again operational! This body, under the leadership of the Chief Youth Officer, is focused on all things youth in St John. The network is currently busy planning some exciting events for this year.
They are also busy with a long overdue review of the proficiency badgework programme. SAYAN also includes the two South African representatives that are on the International Youth Advisory Network (IYAN) which ensures that activities in South Africa are aligned with the international youth movement in St John.
We are also happy to re-introduce our Brigade newsletter, the Madireng. Brigade supporters and members may remember this vibrant and informative publication in previous years and it is our hope that it will reach these levels again.
Initially, the newsletter will be published on a quarterly basis with the option to increase the frequency at a later date.
Event Medical Cover
Brigade members continue to provide events medical coverage across South Africa. The dedication of our members makes sure that the St John Brigade remains a popular choice for event medical services, especially for sporting fixtures. If you, or someone you know would like to make use of these services, a request can be emailed to events.sja.org.za
Keen to join Brigade?
We accept all persons aged 9–70 years of age. St John Brigade remains one of the best ways for those intent on entering the medical field to gain basic training and practice.
