COURSE CONTENTS
First Aid Principles & Self-Protection
Learn the foundational principles of first aid, focusing on the safety of both the patient and the first aider. Self-protection techniques help ensure you can assist others without putting yourself at risk.
Emergency Scene Management
Gain the ability to assess an emergency scene quickly and effectively, ensuring that the area is safe and that you can provide appropriate care without further harm to yourself or the casualty.
Primary & Secondary Surveys
Develop the skills to conduct a thorough initial assessment (Primary Survey) to check for life-threatening conditions, followed by a detailed secondary survey to assess other injuries or conditions.
Ongoing Casualty Care
Learn how to monitor and manage a casualty’s condition while waiting for emergency services, including how to prevent further complications and provide comfort.
Cardiovascular System, Disease & CPR
Understand the cardiovascular system and common related diseases, and be trained in performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for both adults and children, including how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Head and Spinal Injuries
Learn to recognize and treat head and spinal injuries, focusing on immobilization techniques to prevent further damage while preparing the casualty for transport to medical facilities.
Burns, Wounds & Bleeding
Gain practical knowledge on how to treat various types of burns, manage wounds, and control bleeding effectively using dressings, bandages, and pressure techniques.
Fractures and Splinting
Understand the proper methods for diagnosing and managing fractures, and learn how to apply splints to immobilize broken limbs before medical help arrives.
Shock Management & Unconsciousness
Learn to identify the signs of shock and take immediate action to prevent it from worsening, as well as how to manage cases of unconsciousness and fainting effectively.
Recovery Position
Understand the correct procedure for placing an unconscious casualty in the recovery position, ensuring their airway remains clear and that they are in a safe and stable position until help arrives.
