On Sunday, members of the St John South Africa team gathered at Glenshiel, our national headquarters in Johannesburg, for a special St John Day Lunch.

Each year on 24 June, we celebrate the birth of St John the Baptist, the patron saint of the Order of St John — a day observed by St John organisations around the world. It’s a moment to honour our shared values of compassion, service, and care for the vulnerable.

Hosted at the historic Glenshiel estate, the lunch brought together colleagues, volunteers, and partners to reflect on our mission and the impact of our work across South Africa. From providing essential first aid training to delivering accessible eye care, St John continues to serve communities with dedication and heart.

The afternoon was one of connection, reflection, and renewed purpose — reminding us of the powerful legacy we uphold and the work that still lies ahead.
