Mr South Africa is more than just a beauty pageant.

Thozamile Lovers Kula is a confident, charismatic young man from Tswelelang, Galeshewe in Kimberley. A proud alumnus of Technical High School, he stood out early on for his talent in debating and public speaking. Today, he is one of the inspiring finalists in the upcoming Mr South Africa 2025 competition.

Mr South Africa is more than a pageant — it’s a platform that empowers men from all walks of life to become strong, positive role models. Contestants are mentored to be #ManEnough — embracing leadership, integrity, and social responsibility.

Thozamile embodies these values through his ongoing commitment to community work across the Northern Cape. With charm, drive, and a passion for uplifting others, he is not just competing for a crown — he’s championing real social change.

Why did Thozamile enter Mr South Africa?

During his time in URCSA, he has taken meaningful action by organising and participating in numerous annual campaigns against gender-based violence and femicide. These initiatives have reached communities including Galeshewe, Roodepan, Postmasburg, Pampierstad, and Mahikeng — and the campaign continues to this day.

“My only fear has always been not being able to reach my fullest potential and seeing an opportunity. I want to show the world that we are only limited by our fears. To beat this fear we need to take the first step. I not only have passion and I faith that I can do the impossible.”

His community work:

Thozamile’s community work includes his involvement with Scouts South Africa and several other non-profit organisations. He was one of the first Rover Scouts from the Northern Cape to achieve the prestigious Baden-Powell Award (BP Award), an international recognition of excellence in Rover Scouting. In 2022, he proudly represented South Africa at the Scouts Go Solar project in Kenya.

Through the Northern Cape Sports Academy, he has also contributed to various National School Sports Competitions as part of the province’s medical team. As a trained first aider, he has provided on-site care for numerous sports-related injuries and continues to support athletes at provincial elimination events with his skills and dedication.

Currently, He holds a National Role in the Order of St John South Africa.

As Chief Staff Officer for Youth, Thozamile leads the development of strategy, personnel oversight, and project management for St John Brigade Youth programmes across South Africa.

Under his leadership, the volunteer movement in Kimberley has seen a significant revival. He and his team have established First Aid Clubs (known as divisions) in six schools across the city, including Kimberley Boys’ High, Kimberley Girls’ High, St Boniface High, Thabane High, William Pescod High, and Floors High. Together with the Kimberley Brigade team, they are now preparing to represent their region at the upcoming St John Regional Competition in Bloemfontein.

Dedication to community work.

His unwavering commitment to community service has earned him international recognition through admission into an esteemed order of chivalry. He has recently been promoted to Officer of the Order (Grade V).

This honour is more than symbolic — it is a distinction that requires approval from the Grand Prior and formal sanction by His Majesty, King Charles.

On his journey to Mr South Africa 2025, Thozamile aims to be a voice for young men — raising awareness, advocating for youth-driven solutions, and taking a stand against gender-based violence and femicide.

“I plan to make trips around the Northern Cape to seek support from my Province. I am not only winning this for myself but with me I carry the hopes and dreams of everyone who has ever dreamed of ever doing something that impossible. I am standing as a beacon of hope to say we can do. Let’s do it together.”
